liturgical ministries
Choir
Share your vocal or instrumental talents with our Sunday music minister DMike.
Come as you are, no yearlong commitment necessary. Meet at 8pm before Mass to practice.
Lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist
Please contact Rachelle Simon (rachelle@cncumsl.org) for more information on how to become involved with either of these ministries. We can schedule a specific or recurring Sunday for you, or you can let us know before Mass begins.
Liturgical Minister Training: As Needed
Contact Rachelle for to set up a time to meet at the Provincial House Chapel for Liturgical Minister Training Workshop when you are dying to do something at Mass, but don't feel "like you know how," (I know it happens so often)! It’s a short workshop with prayers, historical foundations, and official guidelines in the exact space we use for Mass. We will be learning and practicing the proper guidelines of Lectoring, being an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist (Body and Blood), and other areas of ministry as well. Thanks everyone!
Confession
Confession is available by appointment with Fr. Bill Kempf (frbill@cncumsl.org).
Weddings
The Catholic Newman Center does not own the Provincial House Chapel, we reserve it through the University of Missouri-St. Louis as a student organization. If you would like to try to reserve the chapel for your wedding or other events, we suggest contacting UMSL's Conference and Event Services for further details, availability and pricing. If you are Catholic, and would like more information on Marriage Preparation Guidelines from Fr. Bill, please contact him at frbill@cncumsl.org.
RCIA
(Rite of Christian
Initiation for Adults)
RCIA meets weekly throughout the school year starting in September at the Newman
Center. Anyone interested in learning more about the
Catholic faith and/or joining the Catholic Church as a full
member is welcome to attend. Please contact Fr. Bill Kempf at frbill@cncumsl.org for more information.
